This concept has not been widely reported , but there any many Reddit’s that discuss the relationship between cold sores and COVID-19. We wanted to take a look at the valid reasons why there may be an obvious link between the two – and the reason why this is essentially “fake news” , but also wanted to examine the thought that there may be an early sign that has been previuosly missed , in the discovery of the dreaded “Corona Virus”.

According to the Redditor trew8nay at this post , she says the following of her symptoms:

  • Weds: runny nose, headache, soreness, tiredness
  • Thu: reduced smell, CHILLS, headache, runny nose, soreness, tired, tight chest
  • Fri: low-grade fever (99.5F), warm, headache, sore, tired, tight/painful chest, winded from walking

And when she posted on the Reddit her comment was interesting – she got a “Herpes” flare up during the whole process and mentioned that her immune system would normally handle it.

This is important… And if you read through the full Reddit post you will see others alude to the same thing – once your immune system is off fighting something else – Herpes will take its chances – remember Simplex Herpes is something that will remain with you for life once you get it – but your immune system will normally fight it off as best it can.

When you are “normally” sick with a Cold / Flu – you may notice the same thing , however from various other reports , COVID-19 really attacks the system and therefore your body needs to send all it has to fight it.

So after a little digging around we found a lot of medical jibber jabber but simply it seems that your “T Cells” appear to get exhausted during the COVID virus attack. What is a T Cell I hear you ask. Well here is what Wikipedia said:

T cells can be distinguished from other lymphocytes by the presence of a T-cell receptor on the cell surface. T cell counts are reduced significantly in COVID-19 patients, and the surviving T cells appear functionally exhausted. Non-ICU patients with total T cells counts lower than 800/μL may still require urgent intervention, even in the immediate absence of more severe symptoms due to a high risk for further deterioration in condition.

So we can conclude that the if you have COVID-19 – Your Immune system is off fighting it with all its got. Your Mr T Cells are compromised and so Herpes Simplex waddles in and gives you all kinds of exciting things to deal with , as if you hadnt enough.
